How do we see borders? Is it as simple as monochrome? Generally, no. The world isn’t a checkerboard of black-and-white; Rather, it seems to fill a spectrum.
Transitions are a big part of how we view divisions. They are the “gutter” in comic strips, and the energy to get over big, immense activation barriers. Transitions are also a part of our identity that changes with time.
My two friends are transitioning from female to male; Its hard to watch them change, especially as people tend to react negatively. But, I let myself hope. I know that public opinion will change. Someday, we’ll all open our minds out of the social dichotomy.
One of my friends said, “I’ve awoken a beast long left asleep for years now, a body I’ve since lost touch with,”
How beautiful it is to come to accept oneself.
